Hey, everybody. Kinda been a while since I posted a journal entry here, sorry.
So...I'm already starting to plan out my Halloween outfit this year. Been a while since I've done anything for Halloween. I got sick during my first Halloween in college, and the last two I just didn't feel like going anywhere. But I'm going to be home this Halloween (this is my last quarter in college!!! I'll be out in June!!!) so I've decided I will help pass out candy downtown.
Anyone got any tips for cosplay? I mean, I kind of want to be able to save this idea past Halloween so I could potentially use it for conventions that I will inevitably not be able to get a pass for. Just kiddin', I shoudn't be so negative, amirite?
Deets here, and for the record, the character I intend to dress as is Sollux Captor from Homestuck, so troll cosplayers' advice is sought the most, but ANYONE who has any information about facepaint, wigs, hiding head protrusions in wigs, and fancy glasses (NO CONTACTS) should let me know what they think.

There is an art thief going around under the username of juliano15. This person initially was merely pestering my friend Maddie (ZootyCutie) by commenting on her artwork with long unsolicited lists of "their" OCs, and by proxy similarly pestering people who drew her OC Bali, including myself. This morning Maddie made a statement naming and shaming them for their constant pestering, attempts to basically rewrite her characters' stories and familial relationships without permission, and pretty blatant theft of artwork from anyone and everyone they can get their hands on. Literally their entire gallery is full of stolen artwork, not a single piece in there is original, there's even one from popular artist popfizzles of all people. Now this user has had the nerve to outright steal two of her Mario OCs with the absolutely untrue claim that they "adopted" the characters. As far as I am aware, Maddie has never publicly voiced consideration to even create adoptable characters, let alone put

I don't have a lot of experience, this is my first year doing cosplay too. My main point of advice is start NOW. Better to be done and ready to go two months early than be rushing the last two days because something went wrong and now it won't work.
