TRGxSMTP: The Tower

Part of the Let's Play Persona project, it's Emile aka chuggaaconroy with his Persona, Yoshitsune! He represents the Tower arcana.

Yoshitsune, full name being Minamoto no Yoshitsune, was a general of the Minamoto clan of Japan in the late Heian and early Kamakura period. He was a skilled swordsman who defeated the warrior monk Benkei in a duel, making the latter become the Little John to his Robin Hood. I chose Yoshitsune for chugga mainly because of Okami; you see, Yoshitsune serves as a major inspiration behind the concept of the character Waka. (While chugga officially stated his favorite Okami character is Susano and technically not Waka, there's like ten different Susano designs in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, and only one of Yoshitsune.)

Design-wise, I took into account a few of the franchises chugga has played games from and drew inspiration accordingly. As it would take a long time to write in paragraph form, I'll put it in a list of what comes from which franchise:
MOTHER/EarthBound: mask made to resemble Flying Man, clasp on jacket made to resemble one of the Seven Needles, wields an artist's rendition of the Sword of Kings
Super Mario: wearing overalls, made to resemble a Geno-like puppet/doll (look at the lower face)
Legend of Zelda: pointed and pierced ear (how Link is in Twilight Princess, which he unfortunately hasn't LP'd...yet), Flying Man mask is also meant to resemble the Bremen Mask from Majora's Mask
Okami: obviously made to resemble Waka overall
...Odd that I drew absolutely no inspiration from Pokemon. His Pokemon LPs are my favorite.

In battle, Yoshitsune would use Zio (lightning-based) spells, physical attacks and stat buff/debuff spells. He would resist fire and repel electricity (another MOTHER/EarthBound reference, figure it out!), as well as block light instakill spells. As a regular attacking weapon, Emile would use...stuff similar to the grappling hook in Wind Waker. Heck, I even imagine him using a Wii Remote and connected Nunchuk as a weapon at one point. I can see him swingin' that Nunchuk around...
